I would like to see an isight attachment like the camera/sd card attachment, no brainer. Also a universal memory card attachment. Who wants to stop shooting photos to plug their dslr into the iPad, how about swap compact flash cards in your camera and keep shooting while photos from the full card get dumped onto the iPad.

And speaking of dslr's, how about an app to tether shoot. Get on that one Canon and Nikon, I'd buy that app.

A great deal of the criticism pointed toward the Ipad is from folks asking "why" someone would need it. The product is a very capable--and more importantly--a very portable device. I would like to see accessories that can serve a niche that Apple products are already serving...like photographers. Give them (professionals and hobbyists alike) the ability to connect and download digital photographs at any location they are shooting at. These devices are quite capable of carrying great photo editing software. With the Ipad, photographers can carry the portable device with them on shoots and with the proper accessories can load their pics on the Ipad for on the spot development. They can also provide a stylus and allow artists the same capability...that is to take the Ipad on location as their canvas and draw away on the art apps available and the new ones to come. Artists and photographers are mostly Apple users anyway. With the Iwork apps available for Ipad, they could add the ability to connect a projector to the device. This could allow folks in the business world the ability to create Keynote slideshows on the device and then give the slideshows directly from the device. The projector could also come in handy with playing TV shows and movies from the device by projecting them on a wall.

I would like to connect my USB portable printer to the IPAD. Also it would be useful to attach a WebCam. I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue.

I'd like a universal docking station so I could run the device with some of the equipment I already have.

There are two things that I would really love to see.

1. A docking system that will transfer whats on the iPad to my TV or monitor. This will be really nice for watching movies I have stored.

2. A docking keyboard. I know Apple is coming out with one, but a third party one will be much cheaper.

Who needs a computer???

Seriously, in a few months it will become clear that this is the device that the vast majority of people who are not web professionals actually need. The "average" person, who wants to read/write email and play games, watch movies, maybe read a novel, and of course browse the web, doesn't really need a supercomputer, which is what modern computers basically are, relative to what we had a generation ago. This is especially true with so many great applications available on the cloud.

Kinda a low tech thing but I would like a simple yet artful protective case that includes an integrated loop so that the device doesn't slip out of ones hands. Another idea is to not have a loop but a small handle of sorts-so ones doesn't hvae to constantly get fingerprints on that gorgeous screen.
I also vote for the docking station that would output HDMI video and that I could hookup USB devices.

A lockable storage dock for home use. For example, a swing-down unit that mounts under a kitchen cabinet or entertainment system shelving.

I can see a few categories of accessories I would want:

1. Home Dock

Charge. Hold upright to watch or connect while laying flat when using ext video. HDMI out to watch movies on my HDTV. Audio out to connect to my sound system. USB port and SD (and perhaps other) card slots to load movies. A remote control would be nice here as well (for video and audio).

2. Office Dock

Charge. Hold screen vertical with tilt adjustment. VGA/DVI out to hook to projector for presentations (would be nice to snap off as stand along adapter as well). Connection for my own keyboard (and, dare I say, mouse). USB for memory key connection & Sync. Speakers?

3. Travel Case

Simple TSA compliant no-open case with ability to flip back like Apples.

4. Clip on Web Cam

5. Video Cables for both home and office applications as above.

A fairly narrow niche product application to be sure, but I believe the iPad will make a stellar Fight Sim platform for Flight Sims already available on the iPhone such as Laminar's very fine xPlane series. As such, I'd like to see an airplane shaped yoke like device holding/ encompassing the iPad around it's periphery docked via its connector with perhaps some navigation/ control services buttons on the yoke itself. Indeed, perhaps with a custom /compatible connector- a whole series of flight sim devices could be attached to the iPad simultaneously such as foot pedals, throttle etc….

SmokinX said it the best. all around dock like apple has but with all the goodies. harddrive, iSight(can be like a backrest and swoop to the top, with the option to adjust and remove just incase the camera version of the ipad comes out in the furure), Keyboard, video-out (diplay port, hdmi and vga), trackpad, Wacom-tablet, ethernet, e-sata, firewire and usb

I want to see an option for wirelessly syncing an iPad to a computer. For example, there could be an accessory that would hook onto the dock connector of the ipad and then a wireless USB link hooked into the computer. Or Apple could just make it so the ipad syncs over Bluetooth. A way to hang the ipad from the wall would be good also so I could display pictures like an actuall picture frame.

I'd love to see a compact flash card reader. I think I saw an SD card reader was in the works but my camera uses a compact flash as do most DLRS. Ideally I'd love to be able to plug in my firewire card reader but that's probably asking for too much!

To have an compatible USB adapter. It'll be very useful in transferring files from different devices and backing up documents.

Definitely have the ability to attach a large external hard drive.
Also, fingerprint only access, wireless inactivation, and maybe an iLoJack? (helpful, since I am a student where theft is all too often).

I would love to see a HD mini projector attachment for the Ipad so you could project the screen on a white wall and use a giant screen for your "pad."

It would be great if the iPad had a video input (HDMI) so you could use it as a field monitor when shooting video.

The Apple iPad is going to be much bigger than people currently think. The accessories I would like to see are:

1)iPhone / iPad Synching Cable: I would like to see a cable that allows us to import content from our iPhone onto our iPad and visa versa. The cable should also have the capability of synching the data on our applications from one device to the other. For example, if I am using my PocketMoney application on my iPhone and I update it throughout the day, I would like to synch that data with my iPad. This would encourage more iPhone users to purchase an iPad. It would stop the questions of “should I purchase an iPad or iPhone” and instead make it *iPad AND iPhone*.

2)Finger-Print Resistant / Crystal Clear Screen Protector: Currently no company offers this. Targus is making one, but I would like to see more companies come up with this technology. Since the iPad has such a huge screen, this will be essential.

3)HDMI Adapter / Cables: Currently Apple is offering a VGA adapter (no sound) component cables, and composite cables. An HDMI Adapter / Cable would offer the best picture and sound quality projected from the iPad to a TV / Monitor.

4)All Around USB / SD Adapter: Apple is going to offer a separate USB & SD adapter to import pictures. I would like to see an All Around Adapter that allows those functions, but also allows us to plug in our USB Sticks or External Hard Drives for more storage.

I would like to see a Docking station like the one Apple offers, but then with optional: harddrive, iSight, Keyboard, video-out (diplay port, hdmi and vga), trackpad, Wacom-tablet, ethernet, e-sata, firewire and usb. Totally hybrid.

Let me combine, let me choose. Make it MiXperience!

I too would like to see an HDMI-compliant video and audio out device for the iPad. I also want to see it be a wireless device so that you are not tethered to the HDTV by cables. Create a receiver that attaches to your HDTV's HDMI port and a transmitter that attaches to the iPad so that you can freely move around the room with the iPad sending the video and audio signal to the TV's receiver.

Hello !!
an "iSight" for iPAD and an HDMI cable for HDTV !!!

J. Glenn Kunzler Author Profile Page said:

Personally, I would love to see an HDMI-compliant video out device for the iPad. I frequently use my Macbook Pro to display high-def video on my HDTV, and would hope that the iPad would contain this function.

The second accessory I would love to see for the iPad would be a mass storage accessory, so that I could hook up a large external hard drive and access the audio, video, and image files I have on that device.
