1. I’m using it to connect my PC with the Apple 27“ LED Cinema Display.
2. It’s simply plug & play and worked flawless from the very first moment.
3. Nothing – it’s simply perfect.
4. Probably replace the intense blue light of the device (with a small LED for example).

The product does a great job however I was most impressed with your return process. It was very nice to just be able to send a picture of the defect in the original product we were sent rather than having to ship the entire defective product back. Excellent customer service. Thank you again.

There isn't much to say about this product really. You plug it in to a dual-link DVI port, hook it up to USB then you plug in your 27" Cinema Display and, it just works. You get full resolution, the output is indisguisable from the display plugged into a Mini DisplayPort. The unit itself is well made, unobtrusive. Unlike other similar units, this one gets all the power it needs from the USB socket it is plugged into - no power brick needed, plus it passes the USB through to the display. Everything works, the mic, speakers, camera and USB hub.
So it does exactly what it says it will, exactly as you'd hope it would. No surprises, just perfect performance.
Under Lion my Mac correctly identifies the 27" Cinema Monitor when plugged in via this adaptor.
Is there a downside? Yeah, a tiny one. The unit has a light that tells you it's working, and this is a little brighter than I'd like, so there is a slight eerie blue glow behind my Mac Pro - I could live without that. However, this is such a minor thing, I'd recommend this product for anyone wishing to plug Apple's fancy Cinema display into a Mac with dual-link DVI out.
The only thing worth considering is Apple put VERY short cables on their displays and if you're wanting to place your display anywhere other than right next to your Mac you will require an extension cable. Rest assured, this works just perfectly with a 3 metre Mini DisplayPort extension - that is how I have mine setup (get one that includes USB as well).
Things don't get easier than this, plug it in and forget it. |

1) I connected an Apple 27 inch display to a Dual Link DVI video card on a desktop PC
2) It was easy and straight forward to use
3) I don't like the brightness of the power indicator
All in all a great product albeit at a steep price. |

I'm using the Kanex C247DL with my trust 2007 MacBook Pro and the Apple 27" LED CInema Display... it works a treat. It is an expensive product, but it has solved a really big problem for me. The cables could be longer - at the moment it sits slightly awkwardly, just stretching either side of my macbook to fit all 3 ports - it would be nice if I could tuck the cables through the back of the screen with the rest. But overall, the product does what it said it would. |
