I bought this product to get a faster connection to my external hard drives over USB3 and eSATA, and it works great. It is a little bulky so it's not something you'd want to carry around with a laptop, but it is perfect for home use. Also it's worth noting that it does run a little hot, but from what I've experienced that seems to be the case for most Thuderbolt accessories.

Great and cool stuff, an A+ product. I plugged it into my MacBook Pro and works perfectly in Windows 7. It can't work with my Mac OS X, since mine is Lion, 10.7.4 and noticed the req is 10.8.4. Fast, easy to install, just download and install the drivers for Windows 7. Very fast transfer rate, 80MB/s. Minus, must plugged first before turn on the MacBook Pro. Cannot plug when already on Windows system. That's all. Thanks again. Greetings from Indonesia:D

The Thunderbolt to eSATA + USB 3.0 Adapter works just fine and has saved me the need to buy a new MacBook Pro. My current MBP is a late 2011 model that I have upgraded with more memory and customized with both a SSD and a large internal HD. With it's i7 CPU and Thunderbolt port the only thing it lacked for my needs was USB 3.0. The Kanex adapter fills the gap. I know it's a dongle and may not suit everyone but now I can really use the large capacity external drives I have as all the new ones come with USB3. For me, it just works.

Product is good. I use it with Lexar USB 3.0 car reader. I am a bit disappointed, unfortunately my ICY BOX HDD USB 3.0 dock don't work whit it.

I use it at home for both home and work activities. The product is absolutely amazing! I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 1 and no USB3 ports. Thus device meant a huge upgrade for my machine. Combined with 16 GB RAM and 512 SSD a rather old computer became new again. For the moment there is nothing I dislike about the product. Good quality, the cable length is ideal. Thank you for making my USB3 disks available at a reasonable cost (much cheaper than Thunderbolt drives).

I use it to connect my 17" MBP to USB drives for increases speed when writing large directories of files Its compact and simple. Esata is kinda useless, it would be much preferred to have 2 USB ports. Like 1000x more preferred. There are a few devices/drives that seems to have problems with this USB connection. The seagate backup drives in particular (bus powered) seem to lock up the system if they're plugged in too long (time machine backups hang mid backup, but work perfectly fine albeit slower on USB 2) Cord length is nice that its short, but it might be better to be a little longer so you can place it somewhere else, this configuration seems to be too short, and placing this and a USB drive on the laptop push this off the edge and then it hangs/dangles over the edge. Im sure not good for the cord. If it was longer I could put it farther in on the laptop.

I got MacBook Pro late 2013 and need to revival my external lacie esata hardrives and also have a third USB 3.0 that's became ver handy. Kanex is Great! And the service is excellent! I bought it outside US and no problem. Thanks Kadex! The price is really good...other alternativ are expensive.
