Does the 4-Port hub work with Apple USB Super Drive?

No, Apple Super Drive will only work when plugged-in driectly to your mac, any USB 3. hubs will not power up the drive.

Is the Power Adapter required to be plugged in all the time? I've seen other adapters where the power adapter is only necessary if you need to boost power above the USB 3's 900 mAmps.

That is correct, power adapter is not required to use the USB3 hub, only needed when you need 900mA for each USB port. Thanks.

Excellent performance. I used it with an iMac 2013. It's nice to be able to charge my iPhone when the iMac is shut down. So far, fully satisfied.

I use it with my Macbook Pro Retina, works well and all devices seem to work at full USB 3 speeds. This was one of the few devices that seemed to offer this strangely enough.
